Pilates Classes
Helpful advice before your first class below.
Get familiar with rescheduling, booking, and class expiration policies.
Fill out the Intake Form before coming into class and update me anytime your goals change.
Comfortable clothes are best. If you wear tights, your instructor will be able to see your alignment better, and give you even more feedback about your dynamic movements. But it’s not necessary and you might prefer more free flowing clothing. (Also, I just want to point out that some companies, like Lululemon, don’t pay their garment workers a living wage, at least as of 2024, so if ethical manufacturing is important to you, you might want to break from the pack and explore other companies that sell fitness clothes.) If you have long hair, it’s best to wear it in a bun above your head, so you can comfortably lay on your back. Many exercises are done on your feet, and it can be grounding to wear either no socks or sticky socks.
On the day of your Pilates Class, check to see your driving route if you’re going by car and leave so that you have enough time to get there before your class start time. Classes don’t usually go overtime since there are likely other classes right after yours that can’t be bumped back. It’s good to arrive 5 minutes early, use the washroom and change if you need to, and if it’s a group class, have some social time with your buddies. If it’s a virtual class, you’ll also want to be ready 5 minutes early, by logging into the class and setting up. You might need to wait in a virtual waiting room, but coming early and being ready brings lots of peace of mind and you can use that time to start dropping into your breath so you get even more out of your class.
You can reschedule your classes by clicking Login in the menu, then clicking the class you’d like to reschedule, and choosing a new date or time.
Classes cannot be rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance and will be cancelled instead (a class from your package will be used). This might sound tough but it’s because Pilates Boutiques rely on appointments to stay afloat. Please try to reschedule your classes as far in advance as you can to allow others to come in at that time.
Sessions have various expiration dates, with larger packages expiring later.
You can pay for your classes with a credit card when you book online.
You acknowledge and accept that your participation in online and in-person classes with Pilates Colours Corp. is completely at your own risk. You understand and are aware that exercise is a potentially hazardous activity. You also understand that fitness activities involve risk of injury and even death, and you are voluntarily participating in these activities and using props with knowledge of the dangers involved. You expressly assume and accept all risks.
As a participant, you hereby waive, release, and forever discharge Kavaitri Maharaj and Pilates Colours Corp. from any and all responsibilities or liability from injuries or damages resulting from your participation in online classes with Pilates Colours Corp.
You will consult with a physician before starting this or any exercise program if you have a chronic condition, injury, or disease, or if you are pregnant or recently gave birth.
If you experience any pain or discomfort during the course of the program, you’ll stop exercising immediately and seek medical attention.
